Nobody cares

How could life be if I could just make peace with it.

How very peaceful.

If I could only internalize that the people who hurt me, the ones who were meant to protect me most, didn’t event care.

Maybe that’s a bold statement.

At least at the time they were doing the harm.

Duh, of course they didn’t care! They were self-absorbed. Dysregulated. Irresponsible. Judgmental.

So why then do I care so much?

Why do I try so hard?

To look good in their eyes.

Satisfy them.

Impress them.

What the flip?!

The worst part is that now I see everyone else through their eyes!

I’m self-conscious.

I don’t want to do this.

I do want to do that.

They are watching…

Are they really?

No honey, they are not.

At least not the ones that you care about.

People who judge don’t care. And you don’t care about them. To make them happy, satisfy them…

Move the way you like, scream, sing and dance,

Do what feels good!

NOBODY IS WATCHING!
